Start from a safe place

Give your address and describe what you can see without entering an unsafe wet area. Mention electricity, an ongoing leak or uncertainty about the source.

Discuss the assessment

The contractor confirms service availability and the information or visit needed to assess the floor. Ask about assessment charges, equipment access, water handling and any restrictions at the property.

Agree the boundaries

Read the written scope and price before approving work. Confirm whether moisture checks, drying equipment and follow-up visits are included. Any additional work should be separately explained and authorized.
